Burt Manning is no longer Fulton County's Chief Appraiser. He took a new job in mid-February as a development and training specialist for the Georgia Department of Revenue. Now Manning is training appraisers and tax commissioners throughout the state.
After announcing last year that he would retire in April, Manning changed his mind when the position with the state was offered to him. Manning has 40 years experience in the appraisal business and previously worked in DeKalb, Clayton, Glynn, Chatham and McIntosh Counties.
Assistant Chief Appraiser David Fitzgibbon is serving as acting chief appraiser for Fulton County until a replacement is found.
